Kandace Kirkman, Intern

Hi, my name is Kandace Kirkman. I earned my Bachelor of Science in
Psychology with a minor in Criminology from Arkansas State University in December of
2023. I’m currently working toward my Education Specialist degree in Clinical Mental
Health Counseling at Arkansas State University, along with the Marriage and Family degree
certificate.
I have always had a passion for helping people recognize and build on their
own strengths. I believe everyone is capable of growth, healing, and creating meaningful
change in their lives; sometimes we just need the right support and a little challenge to get
there.
In my work with clients, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a
foundation, while also incorporating Relational-Cultural and Adlerian approaches. I
believe our relationships and life experiences play a big role in who we are today. I am also
continuing to explore additional therapeutic approaches as I grow in my clinical training to
best meet the unique needs of my clients.
I will be working with individuals, couples, and families. My goal is to create
a collaborative environment where you feel comfortable, understood, and empowered.
