Anna Claire Winstead, Intern
My name is Anna Claire. I graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science in
Communication in May 2024. I am working towards my Masters in Education in Clinical Mental
Health Counseling, from Delta State University. While I am at DFCPTC I will be working with children as young as three years old to adults. I will be providing services in individual, family, and couples formats depending on what best fits the client and their needs.
I view the counseling process as collaboration between the client and counselor to help the client become the best version of themselves. This is an ever-evolving process as clients and counselors change and grow through collaboration. The counselor may be the expert on
counseling, but the client is the expert on themselves. With this perspective, I approach counseling from a person-centered framework.
I believe every client has an innate capacity toward growth and wholeness. My aim is to support that process by prioritizing the client’s perspective, preferences, and pace in the therapeutic space. I utilize different interventions and theories to meet each client’s specific goals since everyone is unique.
I am committed to the beauty of change over time and being a safe person to talk to.
