Abby Cannon,
P-LPC
My name is Abby Cannon. I graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2025 with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have experience working with college students and adults. My approach to counseling is primarily person-centered, which is built on the client and counselor working hand and hand to achieve the client's desired goals. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing in order to facilitate change and improvement. When working with clients who are experiencing anxiety and low self-esteem, I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy and strength-based approaches. I’m also telehealth certified as well as Mental Health and First Aid certified.
I am also passionate about working with people experiencing Anxiety and Depression, Life Transitions, ex. (ending of a relationship, and moving from high school to college), domestic abuse and sexual assault survivors, and young athletes.
The Mantra I live by is the curious paradox by Carl Rogers, “I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
